18 Paralympic Sports to Feature in 2026 Asian Para Games
The Asian Paralympic Committee (AsPC) announced the official list of 18 sports for the 2026 Asian Para Games in Nagoya, Japan.
The 2026 Asian Para Games, scheduled for October 18-24 in Nagoya, Japan, will feature 18 sports, encompassing the entire Paralympic program. This marks the first time all Paralympic sports will be included in the Asian Para Games.
An anticipated 3,600 to 4,000 athletes from 45 Asian National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) will compete in the same venues used for the Asian Games just weeks prior. This fifth edition of the Asian Para Games stands as the largest para-sport event after the Paralympic Games.
“We are thrilled to announce the full list of sports, offering certainty to athletes and NPCs preparing for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games,” said AsPC President Majid Rashed. “Positioned two years after Paris and two years before LA 2028, our Games offer athletes a valuable opportunity to accurately gauge their progress in a large-scale multi-sport environment.”
Rashed continued, “They also help maintain excitement and interest in para-sport, attracting significant media coverage for NPCs who might not send large delegations to the Paralympic Games. We are incredibly proud of the scope and reach of our regional games, which play a vital role in the development of the Paralympic Movement in Asia.”
