Ever since Seth Rollins was thrown out of The Vision after WWE Crown Jewel, fans have been buzzing about one question is The Shield coming back? The Visionary’s exit from his group has started strong rumors that he might turn babyface and possibly reunite with Roman Reigns. But there’s one problem Dean Ambrose, now known as Jon Moxley, is under contract with AEW until 2027, which makes his WWE return impossible for now.
If The Shield really does make a comeback, the team would need a new third member to fill Ambrose’s spot. Here are three WWE stars who could be the perfect fit.
1. CM Punk
CM Punk and Seth Rollins have been at odds for a long time, both inside and outside the ring. But wrestling is full of surprises, and sometimes enemies become allies. After RAW recently went off-air, fans noticed CM Punk rushing to help a beaten-down Rollins with a steel chair in hand. That small moment hinted that both men might join forces against common rivals.
Besides, Punk has a deep connection with The Shield’s history. It’s widely known that he played a big role in shaping the original idea of the faction. Given his experience, leadership, and crowd connection, CM Punk could be the best choice to replace Ambrose in a modern-day version of The Shield.
2. Cody Rhodes
If WWE wants to make The Shield reunion feel even bigger, Cody Rhodes could be the man for the job. Just like Rollins and Reigns, Cody is a megastar who can match their charisma and energy. The American Nightmare already has a solid relationship with both men and has been part of key storylines with them in recent months.
Cody’s addition would bring balance to the group a mix of power, passion, and pride. His leadership skills and ability to connect with fans make him one of the strongest candidates to carry The Shield name forward.
3. Jey Uso
Jey Uso’s rise as a singles competitor has been one of WWE’s biggest success stories. Once known only as part of The Usos tag team, “Main Event Jey” has now become a top babyface and fan favorite. WWE has been pushing him hard, showing that the company believes in his potential as a future main-event star.
If Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins were to join hands again, Jey could fit naturally as the third member. His fiery personality, emotional storytelling, and in-ring chemistry with both men could bring a fresh and exciting version of The Shield that fans would love to see.
