The IPL 2027 Auction is expected to bring major changes to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) squad as the franchise may look to rebuild some important areas of the team. Despite several players delivering impactful performances throughout the IPL 2026 season, there are still concerns regarding consistency, injury records, economy rates, long-term planning, and the overall balance of the squad.

RCB management could focus on investing in younger talents, durable overseas fast bowlers, explosive middle-order batters, and more reliable all-round options who can perform consistently under pressure. The franchise may also release a few high-value players to free up purse value and overseas slots before the IPL 2027 Auction.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been fabulous throughout the season. He took 24 wickets in 14 matches with an economy of 8, and his best figures were 4/23. So, his performance is not a concern for his availability next season, but franchises often do not want to proceed with bowlers over 35, as they are prone to injuries. RCB may look for younger fast-bowling options and pacers in the IPL 2027 Auction.

Krunal Pandya

Krunal Pandya’s IPL 2026 season was fantastic: with an average of 45.50, he scored 182 runs at a strike rate of 145, and his highest score was 73. But his bowling performance has been a concern, as he took only 11 wickets in the 2026 season with an economy of nearly 9. RCB can look for better options in the IPL 2027 Auction who can perform more consistently and bring much better results.

Josh Hazlewood

Josh Hazlewood has been performing consistently well for RCB in the 2026 season, and in 11 matches, he has taken 12 wickets. But his economy of nearly 10 has been a concern for RCB and their long-term plans as well. He has been one of the most expensive overseas buys in the Indian Premier League,

His injuries and international commitments are also a concern for RCB. In the IPL 2027 Auction, RCB will go for a durable overseas fast bowler who can be a great asset to the team.

Jitesh Sharma

Jitesh Sharma had high expectations from him in the IPL 2026 season, but he could not live up to those hopes, as in 13 matches, he scored only 90 runs. Bought for a massive price in the previous auction, he struggled with consistency throughout the season and failed to deliver impactful performances in the middle order.

His inability to finish games consistently has been a concern for RCB, and the franchise may look for a younger and more explosive wicket-keeper batter in the IPL 2027 Auction who can bring better balance and aggressive intent to the team.

Nuwan Thushara

Nuwan Thushara was secured by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for ₹1.60 Crore during the 2025 mega auction because of his unique skill set and slingy fast-bowling action.  His unavailability and lack of contribution in crucial matches could become a concern for RCB, and the franchise may release him in the IPL 2027 Auction to free up an overseas slot and look for more reliable fast-bowling options.
