The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 will be held from 7 February to 8 March 2026 in India and Sri Lanka. It will feature 20 teams playing 55 matches across iconic venues like Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Colombo, and Kandy. India entered the tournament as defending champions.

Many famous cricket players will not play in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Some players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja have retired from T20 cricket, so they will not be seen again in this tournament. Pat Cummins may miss out because of injury. Also, young players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill might not be selected due to team changes.

Rohit Sharma:  T20 World Cup Winner

Rohit Sharma has been one of India’s best players in the T20 World Cup. He played 47 matches, scored 1,220 runs, with an average of 34.86 and a strike rate of 133. He hit 12 half-centuries and often opened the batting for India.

His last T20 World Cup match was the 2024 final, where India won the title. It will be a major loss not seeing him on the biggest stage of the shortest format of cricket.

Virat Kohli: Greatest Player In The T20 World Cup

Virat Kohli has been one of the. He played 33 innings and scored 1,292 runs, which shows how consistent he has been on the big stage. His average of 58.7 is amazing, and he always played important innings when the team needed him.

Kohli scored 15 half-centuries, and his highest score was 89. He also hit 111 fours and 35 sixes, showing both skill and power. Over many World Cups, he helped India win crucial matches. It will be very sad not to see him playing at the biggest stage of the shortest format of cricket.

Ravindra Jadeja: An Important All-Rounder for India in the T20 World Cup

Ravindra Jadeja has been a very important all-rounder for India in the T20 World Cup. He contributed with both batting and bowling, which made him very useful for the team. With the bat, he played 14 innings and scored 130 runs, often finishing matches and supporting the top batters. With the ball, Jadeja bowled 88 overs, took 22 wickets, and had a good economy rate of 7.22.

He also saved many runs in the field with his quick reflexes. Jadeja always gave his best in big matches and helped India in many tough situations. It will be very sad not to see him play on the biggest stage of the shortest format of cricket.

Pat Cummins: A Fighter Who May Miss the T20 World Cup 2026

Pat Cummins has played an important role for Australia in the T20 World Cup, even though he is mainly known as a fast bowler. In his T20 World Cup career, he played 8 innings and scored 60 runs, often batting lower down the order and helping the team with quick runs.

His strike rate of 107 shows he can score fast when needed. Cummins is also a great leader and always gives his best in big matches. However, due to injury, he may miss the 2026 T20 World Cup, which will be disappointing for cricket fans.

Haris Rauf: A Surprise Absence from T20 World Cup 2026

Haris Rauf is one of Pakistan’s fastest bowlers, but he will not play in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. He was left out of Pakistan’s 15-member squad announced on January 25, 2026. This was surprising because Haris Rauf is Pakistan’s highest T20I wicket-taker with 133 wickets.

The selectors said he was dropped because of a poor performance in the 2025 Asia Cup final, where he gave away many runs and did not take any wickets. They also felt he did not fit the team’s combination. Many fans will miss his speed and energy, as he has often been exciting to watch on the big stage.

Yashasvi Jaiswal: A Rising Star Ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026

Yashasvi Jaiswal is a really exciting young batter for India in T20 cricket. Even though he was left out of India’s 15-player squad for the T20 World Cup 2026, he has shown amazing talent. In 22 innings, he scored 723 runs with an average of 36.1 and a strike rate of 164. He has one century and five half-centuries, hitting 82 fours and 38 sixes.

He plays fearlessly against strong teams and makes games fun to watch. Many people think he has a bright future and could become a big star for India. Fans were really surprised he didn’t get selected for the World Cup.

Shubman Gill Left Out of India’s T20 World Cup 2026 Squad

Shubman Gill was not selected in India’s 15-player squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup. This happened because his recent T20I form was not good. He did not score a fifty in his last 15 innings and made only 291 runs in those games. Another reason was that the team wanted wicketkeeper-batsmen at the top of the order for a more aggressive strategy.

The selectors picked players like Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, and Abhishek Sharma instead. Even though he was left out, Gill reacted professionally, respected the selectors’ decision, believed in destiny, and wished the team the best for the tournament, which will be played in India and Sri Lanka.
