Abid Ali awarded Player of the Match for his 215* in second test match vs Zimbabwe
Ali's marathon innings included 29 fours which helped Pakistan reach a mammoth 510/8.
Pakistan test opener Abid Ali scored a match-winning unbeaten 215 to take Pakistan to 510 for eight (declared) in the first innings of the second test match against Zimbabwe here in Harare Sports Club, Zimbabwe. With little resistance from Zimbabwe batsmen and superb bowling by Pakistan’s pacers, Pakistan won the match by an innings and 147 runs.
Abid Ali was adjudged Player of the Match for his 215*, which included 29 fours. This was Abid’s maiden Test double ton. Pakistan piled huge runs with Abid Ali produced a 169 run partnership with No. 9 Nauman Ali, who scored a 97.

Abid Ali has supported beautifully Azhar Ali who scored 126 runs, compiling a 236 run partnership. This was Azhar’s 18 test century.
Abid Ali in the process broke former skipper Younis Khan’s eight-year-old record of the highest score by a Pakistan batsman in Zimbabwe in the longest format of the game.
Abid’s maiden Test double century is now the highest score by a Pakistan player in Zimbabwe. Former Pakistan skipper Younis had scored an unbeaten 200 in Zimbabwe in 2013 while Mohammad Wasim’s 192 in 1998 in Harare is third in the list. With Hasan Ali’s five wickets in first innings and five wickets each for Nauman Ali and Shaheen Afridi (career best), meant Zimbabwe went 2-0 down in the two match test series, handing Pakistan can clean sweep.
