AFCON 2025: Complete List Of Qualifying Nations

Egypt have qualified for a record 27th time. There are no debutants at AFCON 2025. 

AFCON 2025: The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations men’s football tournament is set to be staged in Morocco from 21 December 2025-18 January 2026 and the lineup is complete now. 

The host country of the continental event will hope to build on their success at the FIFA World Cup in 2022 where Morocco became the first African nation to reach the semi-final stage.

Cote D’Ivoire are the reigning champions after beating Nigeria in the 2023 edition, held in 2024, and will be back to defend their title.

AFCON 2025: Qualification format

All but two of the 52 members of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) entered the qualifiers, aiming for a spot among the 24 nations at AFCON 2025.

Following the preliminary round, 48 countries were divided into 12 groups of four, playing home and away in a total of six matches.

The top two nations in each group qualify for the final tournament. 

AFCON 2025: Qualified nations

Egypt, led by Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, are looking for a first continental title since 2010.

Securing their spot on the same day were Senegal, the 2021 champions and one of the powerhouses in African football with players like Sadio Mane and Kalidou Koulibaly. 

Burkina Faso were the first team to qualify for the tournament and join Morocco and Algeria, who have not progressed past the group stage since their triumph in 2019.

Equatorial Guinea got a place for their third consecutive finals.

African giants Ghana miss out on AFCON for the first time in 20 years.

Among the final qualifiers are 1970 champions Sudan, Tanzania and Botswana.
