Four members of the Anoaʻi family have won the WWE Royal Rumble match till now

The Anoa’i Family is one of the most well-known and powerful families in professional wrestling. The Anoaʻi family is a well-known wrestling dynasty from the Samoan Islands. Several members have had success in numerous promotions, including WWE.

The family has strong ties to wrestling, with many generations of wrestlers, and many of them have achieved unparalleled success. Yokozuna, Rikishi, Jey & Jimmy Uso, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Roman Reigns, The OTC, and many others are well-known members of the family.

Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Umaga, and the Wild Samoans (Afa and Sika) are a few other well-known family members. Members of the Anoaʻi family have earned many awards and titles in the WWE, which has made them a symbol of the organization.

Winning the men’s Royal Rumble match is one such honour that we will look at here. The Royal Rumble is a professional wrestling match in which competitors are eliminated by throwing them over the top rope, and their feet should touch the floor according to WWE Royal Rumble regulations. Thirty contestants typically participate in the match, with two wrestlers starting and newcomers joining every ninety seconds until every competitor is in the ring.

Only the men’s Rumble match first introduced by the WWE in the first Royal Rumble event, which took place in 1988. The PLE has regularly featured two Rumble matches since the WWE launched the same match in the women’s division in 2018.

Anoa’i Family Members Who Won WWE Royal Rumble Matches

  1. Yokozuna

WWE legend Yokozuna was the first wrestler of Samoan background to win the WWF World Heavyweight Championship. He and Owen Hart were the two-time WWF World Heavyweight Champion and the two-time WWF Tag Team Champion.

Yokozuna was the first Anoaʻi family’s wrestler who won the Royal Rumble in 1993 Royal Rumble at Sacramento, California’s ARCO Arena.

  1. The Rock

One of the most famous members of the Anoaʻi family who has stepped out of the sport and become a global megastar is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The Rock has returned to action following a successful career in the WWE and now he is one of Hollywood’s most popular stars.

In 2000, The Rock became the second member of the Anoaʻi family to win the Royal Rumble match, which took place at Madison Square Garden, New York. Johnson secured his way to WrestleMania after eliminating Big Show in the match.

  1. Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns also known as The OTC (Original Tribal Chief) is one of the greatest active stars of Anoaʻi family in WWE. Roman Reigns started his career in the WWE with The Shield including Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, and became the company’s symbol and began one of the most successful 1316-day Undisputed WWE title reigns.

Roman Reigns is the third wrestler from a Samoan background who won the Royal Rumble 2015 event shortly after beginning his singles career. Reigns defeated Rusev (Miroslav Petrov Barnyashev) in the 2015 match, which took place at the Wells Fargo Centre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

  1. Jey Uso

The renowned WWE star Rikishi’s son, Jey Uso, joined the WWE with his brother Jimmy Uso. The Usos, a tag team that was established by these two brothers of Anoaʻi family and went on to rule the tag team division.

Jey began his solo career in 2023, and after a brief tenure as the Intercontinental champion and several high-profile bouts, he became a viral sensation and gained popularity.

On February 1, 2025, Jey shocked the world by defeating 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena in the 2025 Men’s Rumble match, despite all odds. Jey won the coveted match, making him the fourth member of the Anoaʻi family to do so.
