A century in cricket is a score of 100 or more runs scored by a batsman in a single inning. The word is also used in the phrase “century partnership,” which tends to occur when 2 batsmen add 100 runs to the squad cumulative while swinging the bat together. A century is considered a groundbreaking score for batsmen, and the quantity of centuries a player has is often included in their career statistical data. A century is approximately equivalent to a five-wicket haul for a bowler and is frequently referred to as a tonne or hundred. Scores of more than 200 runs are still considered a century, though they are regarded as double (200-299 runs), triple (300-399 runs), and quadruple centuries (400-499 runs), respectively.
