Barcelona go three points clear in La Liga and are above Real Madrid

Barcelona have done it yet again and have now built a lead of 3 points over Real Madrid in the La Liga. This match was postponed earlier due to the death of the first team doctor.

And now the dates clashed with the South American World cup Qualifiers meaning Raphinha and Ronald Araujo did not play the match as they were rightfully rested by Hansi Flick.

Raphinha not available for Barcelona’s match

The match was pretty much the same what Barcelona have done this season, demolishing the opponent’s defence in seconds. The first goal was scored by Ferran Torres who finished a beautiful cross from Balde from the left hand side. In the 21st minute, Dani Olmo scored a penalty to double the advantage.

The penalty created quite a bit of stir because initially Olmo failed

The penalty created quite a bit of stir because initially Olmo failed to score the penalty but it was then re-taken as a defender of Osasuna had entered the penalty area before Olmo had kicked it. Second time, the German slotted the penalty with ease.

Minutes later, The German had to be substituted as he suffered a muscular injury which could see him being rested for the next few matches. With the Atletico Madrid game next week, Dani Olmo will be a big miss for Hansi Flick.

Pedri was again spectacular as he produced another masterclass

The game was then controlled by Barca with ease as their midfield ran the game. Pedri was again spectacular as he produced another masterclass. Lamine Yamal also created a few more chances for Ferran Torres who failed to bypass the Osasuna goalkeeper. Torres also missed a free kick that was agonisingly close and hit the post.

Lewandowski scored the last goal of the match which came in a beautifully crafted counter that was complimented by a glancing header from the polish striker.

It was a comfortable win for the Catalans

It was a comfortable win for the Catalans who won the match comfortably without the help of Raphinha and Ronald Araujo. Hansi Flick was quite active in terms of substitutions and rested the players who came in from International duties. The only drawback of the game was Dani Olmo’s injury who will be sidelined for several weeks and will miss the crucial Copa Del Rey Semi-Final 2nd leg against Atletico Madrid.
