Bellingham, Extra-Time Saves Southgate’s England From Euro Exit
An injury-time goal from Bellingham removed England from the jaws of defeat and a goal from Harry Kane gave the team the win, booking a spot for the quarter-finals.

It had to be Jude Bellingham to rescue England from a defeat against Slovakia in the Round of 16 match in the Euro 2024.

England was on the verge of getting eliminated from the tournament in the knock-out stage after Ivan Schranz gave Slovakia a lead in the first half.
Bellingham Turns The Game
It was in the stoppage time that Bellingham came with a bicycle kick to net for England. It was in the last 95th minute that the star player for the Three Lions scored to equalize with Slovakia sending the match to extra-time.
Harry Kane’s goal in the extra time gave England the lead and helped them through to the quarter-finals and saved them from a humiliating defeat.
Slovakia remained dominant in most parts of the game in terms of possession. England looked all over the place until Bellingham gave them a lease of life.
England were slow and dull in the first half. Fans were palpably frustrated as England players could feel the heat.

The England cricket team has been garnering a lot of criticism for its lackluster performance in the tournament so far. They scored just two goals in the group stage. And except for their opening match, they could only manage draws in the group round.
Much of the backlash that England has been facing have been directed towards its manager Gareth Southgate for poor selection of players, substitutes to be fielded on the pitch and failing to put up a strong and aggressive team.

England will now face Switzerland in the quarter-final. It will be Southgate ‘s 100th game as England’s manager.
England are yet to win a Euro Championship. Southgate will have to make some bold moves if they want to create history.
