Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma is not going to feature in the first match of the Australia tour. Rohit Sharma had become a father for the second time on 15 November. The reason why he did not accompany the team on the Australia tour is due to this very fact. After the child was born, many started speculating that possibly Rohit will be featuring in the first Test.

The curtain has finally been lifted on the availability of Team India captain Rohit Sharma for the first match of the Border-Gavaskar Test series on the Australia tour. Rohit Sharma will not play the first Test match of Team India. According to  report, Rohit will currently spend time with his family in Mumbai. Rohit Sharma became a father for the second time on 15 November. In such a situation, he wishes to pass time with his wife Ritika now itself.

Rohit Sharma will not join team India in Perth Test

Rohit Sharma did not accompany the Team India to the Australia tour as he was becoming a father for the second time. Rohit had thought that his wife would be delivering a child at the end of this month. However, on November 15 itself, joyous voices echoed at Rohit’s house. In such a situation, the discussion had intensified that perhaps the captain of Team India would be available for the Test match to be played in Perth from November 22, but this will not happen.

On the other hand, Captain Rohit will play in the second Test match

Team India’s skipper Rohit Sharma will be available to play the second test of the series to be played in Adelaide after the Perth test match. This is what Rohit, captain of Team India, has already discussed with the BCCI selection committee. Rohit had also intimated his team management that he would soon become a father.

Simultaneously, now he has informed the BCCI that he will take part in the second and pink ball day-night Test to be played in Adelaide. He will also participate in the two-day practice match to be played against the Australian PM XI on November 30.

Jasprit Bumrah to lead Perth Test

In the absence of Rohit , pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah will lead Team India in the Perth Test match. Jasprit Bumrah has led Team India earlier as well. Bumrah is the vice-captain of the Test team. But after the return of Rohit Sharma, command will again come in the hands of regular captain.
