Krafton India Esports has officially announced the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2026, one of the biggest tournaments in the country’s competitive gaming calendar. It was announced on April 23, with the event scheduled to start on May 6, 2026.

This tournament will feature the best BGMI teams from all over India. The competition is expected to be tough from the very first match itself with prize money over ₹2 crore and an opportunity to qualify for an international championship.

For many professional players this event is not only about winning money. It is about showcasing one’s skills, making a name for oneself and getting a chance to represent India on the global stage.

BMPS 2026 Format: Five Rounds Of Tough Competition

The structure of the tournament has been designed to test consistency and performance. Teams will need to perform well in every round to stay in the competition. Even a single weak performance can lead to elimination.

This year the event will consist of five stages. As the tournament moves forward, each round will get tougher.

One of the biggest changes for 2026 is a reduction in the number of participating teams. In previous seasons 96 teams were invited. This time, only 64 teams are selected.

This decision intensifies the competition. It ensures that only the strongest and most ready teams get to play.

This tighter selection will mean more pressure and significance in every match.

Tournament Schedule and Anticipated LAN Events

Matches will begin online on May 6. These early rounds will let teams from different parts of the world compete without having to travel.

As the competition heats up, the later rounds will likely be held in offline venues. Live matches with crowd have a different level of excitement and energy.

Current reports indicate Semi Finals could take place in Delhi from June 9 to June 14. The Grand Finals are likely to be held in Jaipur from June 19 to June 21.

If these plans are confirmed, fans will have the opportunity to watch the matches live and support their favourite teams in person.

LAN events also bring tougher competition, a better viewing experience for spectators and a better control over matches.

Why BMPS 2026 Is A Very Important Tournament

This year’s edition is particularly important as it will decide India’s representatives for the Esports World Cup 2026.

The winner of BMPS 2026 will earn a direct qualification for the global tournament. That means every match is very important for the teams.

India has also got one more slot for the International event. The team that comes in second has a good shot of taking that second spot.

This opportunity provides more incentive for teams to perform at their best.

Playing for your country at a world championship is one of the biggest achievements in eSports.

About The Esports World Cup 2026

The international tournament will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It will take place 6 to 16 August 2026.

The competition will feature 32 teams from different regions. These regions are Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas.

There will be a very high level of competition because each team will have the best players from their region.

For Indian teams, qualifying for this event means playing some of the toughest squads in the world.

It also gives international exposure, sponsorship opportunities and career growth to professional players.
