Breaking World Championships 2024: Top Contenders For The Title

The WDSF Breaking World Championships 2024 arrives in China and will be staged from  20 -21 December. The event will be staged at the Chengdu Chengbei Venue, which will also host the breaking events during the 2025 IWGA World Games.

The world’s top B-Boys and B-Girls will battle it out at the WDSF Breaking World Championships.  Around 300 athletes from 50 countries will be in contention at the event. 

The competition will also serve as a qualifier for the 2025 World Games and only the best two athletes per gender will qualify directly.

The event also provides a platform to the athletes to fetch as many points as possible for the WDSF World Ranking. 16 B-Boys and 16 B-Girls will eventually feature at the 2025 IWGA World Games.

WDSF Breaking World Championships 2024: Athletes To Watch

The People’s Republic of China will enter the championship as the biggest team. The host team consists of more than 60 B-Boys and B-Girls, including B-Girl 671, Olympic bronze medallist at Paris 2024.

2023 world champion and Paris 2026 silver medallist, B-Girl Nicka will be another contender for gold.

On the other hand, B-Boys who made the podium in Paris (Phil Wizard, Danny Dan and Victor) will be missing from the Chengdu championships  this year.  Therefore, the opportunity is ripe for Japanese star and Buenos Aires 2018 medallist B-Boy Shigekix to win his first world title.

Ukraine’s Lussy Sky, and Spanish lawyer B-Boy Xak are also among the top contenders at the event.
