Champions League: Pulisic opens the deadlock, Benzema levels it

Christian Pulisic scored the opening goal of the game and gave Chelsea the lead until Benzema scored and made it level to 1-1.

The American capped Christian Pulisic scored against Real Madrid in the 1st leg of the Champions League Semi-final. He made a great run in the 15th minute and got completely past Madrid’s defense. Pulisic showed his composure and held his nerves till the end. He dribbled past Courtois and scored the first goal of the game. The second one was from Real Madrid as they replied to the first one. Benzema scored the second goal of the game and the first one for real Madrid to level the score 1-1.

In the first 5th minute Chelsea looked sloppy and gave away the ball easily in the Madrid half. Later on, they recovered and then created some great chances. They almost scored when a header from Pulisic went to Werner’s feet in front of an open goal. Somehow Coutouis managed to bring his leg and deny Werner from scoring. Later on, a flying pass from Rudiger came to a Pulisic as he made a great run to get past the Real defense.

Real were nowhere in the game until then but replied to the goal with a goal in the 29th minute of the game. Benzema scored and brought back his team in the game. Benzema this season has been the savior for Real Madrid in the term of scoring goals.
