Clash Of Titans: Olympic, World Champions Galore At 2025 World Judo Championships Budapest
Budapest is set to host the 2025 World Judo Championships from 13 to 20 June 2025.

Budapest is set to host the 2025 World Judo Championships from 13 to 20 June 2025.
The Papp László Arena will welcome 564 judoka from 93 countries.The competition will run over seven days of individual competition across the seven men’s and women’s weight categories, followed by the crowd-favourite mixed team event on the final day.
The field is staked with champions with 11 of the world number ones, ten reigning world champions, and seven Paris 2024 Olympic gold medallists.
Twenty Olympic champions and 28 world champions have registered for World Judo Championships 2025.
Of the 20 Olympic champions, eight are members of the French team that secured gold in the mixed team event. The remaining champions won crowns in individual competitions, including Lukáš Krpálek (CZE), Lasha Bekauri (GEO), Japan’s Abe siblings and Takanori Nagase, most of whom are double Olympic champions.
Among the 28 world champions, Japanese siblings Abe Hifumi and Abe Uta headline with four titles each. Georgia’s Tato Grigalashvili is a three-time world champion, while Lukáš Krpálek, Jorge Fonseca, Nikoloz Sherazadishvili, and Rafaela Silva have all claimed two.
