With neither side finding a winner in regulation or extra time, the match went to a penalty shootout. Nottingham Forest secured a 5-3 victory in the shootout as goalkeeper Matt Turner’s save on Sam Bell’s spot-kick proved crucial. Taiwo Awoniyi, instrumental in Forest’s recent Premier League matches, sealed the win with the decisive penalty. Nottingham Forest will now face Manchester United in the fifth round.
