Chelsea win against Leicester in a match full of events

Rudiger and Jorginho scored for The Blues as Chelsea now sit at 3rd Position in the Premier League table

Chelsea won 2-1 Vs Leicester at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea started the match in hope of a win, as in the last 6 Premier League fixtures against Leicester, the Blues haven’t won a single match. Tuchel started with a 3-4-3 with Werner as a striker and Pulisic and Mount on the left and right wings respectively. Leicester on the other hand played a 3-4-1-2 with Vardy and Perez upfront.

Match kicked off with Chelsea pressing forward, creating chances and causing problems for The Foxes defence. In 18th minute when the ball was in the Leicester penalty box Tielemens was trying to clear the ball but fouled Werner. VAR checked and found that the German brought his leg in between the Belgian and the ball, so no penalty was given to the Blues.

Chelsea kept pressing and Werner found the net in the 21st minute but the German was out of luck, as he was offside and the goal was scrapped. In the 33rd minute Werner’s another goal from corner was ruled out by VAR as the ball had hit the arm of the German instead of his head.

Nothing was going in the way of Chelsea despite being the dominant and better team on the pitch. This was about to change as 2 minutes after the half time, Rudiger scored a goal for the Blues as the ball hit him accidently from the corner and Chelsea were now up by 1-0.

Werner in the 65th minute was again fouled by Leicester defender Fofana inside the penalty box and this time VAR awarded a penalty to Tuchel’s men. Jorginho as always stepped up and hopped, stopped, jumped and scored the penalty with ease. Chelsea 2-0 Leicester City

The game was not over yet as Kalechi Iheanacho found the net in the 77th minute courtesy of Ndidi’s pinpoint pass who stole the ball from Reece James. Chelsea 2-1 Leicester City. In the 90th minute Ricardo Pereira provided a beautiful pass inside the box to Ayoze Perez who missed a sitter and Leicester lost to Chelsea 2-1.

Chelsea with the win now sit above Leicester in the 3rd position and have to win the last game for a guaranteed Champions League start next season.
