CM Punk, the World Heavyweight Champion, sent a strong message at the start of the most recent episode of RAW. He went to the ring and talked honestly about a lot of WWE people. Roman Reigns missing again on the way to WrestleMania was one of the main things he talked about.
CM Punk also talked about famous people and management. He sounded sure of himself, but also angry. Fans could feel the tension rising as WrestleMania got closer.
There were a number of matches and segments during the show. Some were exciting, but some parts left fans scratching their heads. Some decisions didn’t seem necessary, and some storylines seemed a bit forced.
Here are four times from RAW that a lot of fans might think were mistakes or missed chances.
4. Too Much Interference Is Making Games Too Easy to Predict
One of the worst things about RAW right now is that matches are always interrupted. Someone almost always runs in or causes trouble at the end of a Women’s Tag Team match.
Bayley fought Lash Legend in a singles match this week. There was a lot of action in the match, and both wrestlers did a great job. But once again, something from outside the match changed its course.
Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss came into the ring and beat up Nia Jax. Then, while Bayley went for the pin, Lyra Valkyria secretly held Lash Legend’s leg. This made the end look like it would happen.
Fans like surprises, but when they happen every week, they lose their specialness. A clean match with a clear winner can be more fun at times. It also makes the wrestlers look more powerful.
If WWE wants to keep fans interested before WrestleMania, they need to stop interfering so much and let matches end on their own.
3. Rey Mysterio Joining the Ladder Match Feels Random
The announcement that Rey Mysterio will be in the Intercontinental Championship ladder match was another big moment on RAW.
Penta, Je’Von Evans, and Dragon Lee won a tag team match earlier in the show. Rey Mysterio came to the ring after the win to say congratulations. Then he shocked everyone by saying he would also be in the ladder match.
Adding a legend like Rey Mysterio makes the match more fun. Fans love it when experienced stars play in big games.
But on the other hand, the choice seems sudden. Wrestlers like Seth Rollins and Gunther were already allowed to fight. Instead, WWE could have made a great singles match between them and Rey Mysterio.
A singles match would have added more drama and story to the show. It would also make it clear what each superstar’s job would be at WrestleMania.
The ladder match still has more star power, though, which could make it one of the most talked-about matches of the event.
2. Too Many SmackDown Stars on RAW
Both RAW and SmackDown have a lot of talented wrestlers on their rosters. Because of this, each show should mostly be about its own stars.
This week’s RAW, on the other hand, had a lot of SmackDown stars. Lash Legend fought against Bayley. B-Fab and Michin also fought in a tag team match against IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley.
The matches were fun, but they could have happened on SmackDown instead. That show has enough time to do a good job of building those plots.
Some RAW stars, on the other hand, were hardly used. Rusev is in the Intercontinental Championship ladder match, but he didn’t fight again. In the background, you could only see Grayson Waller, Kofi Kingston, and Maxxine Dupri.
Fans want stories that are fair. When there are too many stars from another brand, the main roster can look full and confusing.
Instead of having each brand focus on WrestleMania, it would be better to give each brand its own focus.
1. Roman Reigns Missing Again Is Hurting the Story
Roman Reigns not showing up is still the most talked-about thing about RAW.
During his opening speech, CM Punk said that Roman Reigns would not be there. The reason for the story is that he went through the announce table last week and is still healing.
But a lot of fans don’t think this explanation is good enough. This is the most important time to get people excited about WrestleMania, which is coming up soon.
Roman Reigns could have helped by doing a short interview or video message from behind the scenes. Seeing the star on screen keeps the rivalry going and makes the story seem real.
The fight between CM Punk and Roman Reigns has a lot of potential right now. There is tension, and both stars have big personalities.
But if both wrestlers showed up regularly, the rivalry would get even worse.
