Cody Rhodes Returns from Injury for Royal Rumble 2025 Showdown

Royal Rumble 2025: Fans were shocked when Cody Rhodes returned after an injury at Saturday Night’s Main Event (SNME). It all started on December 14, when Rhodes defended his title against Kevin Owens. The match was intense, but after losing, Owens attacked Rhodes.

The surprise attack was brutal. After the match, Owens delivered a package piledriver to Rhodes, injuring him. Rhodes had to be stretched out of the arena. On the December 27 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, General Manager Nick Aldis had an important message for Owens. He started the show with an ultimatum. He told Owens to return the Winged Eagle title by the end of the show or face serious consequences. Owens didn’t take the ultimatum seriously. He ignored Aldis’s request and kept flaunting the title.

But before things could get worse, Rhodes made a surprise return. He confronted Owens in the ring. Rhodes had a bold challenge for Owens: he wanted a ladder match for the Undisputed WWE title at the Royal Rumble 2025.

Owens agreed to the match. Shortly after, Aldis made it official. The match between Rhodes and Owens for the Undisputed WWE title will happen at the Royal Rumble 2025. Fans were excited by this announcement, but some had doubts.

There was a lot of talk about whether Rhodes was truly injured. His quick return made fans suspect that the injury might have been fake, just a part of the storyline. But instead, the match was booked for February at the Royal Rumble.
