Counter Dive Heroes: Marvel Rivals Tips

Marvel Rivals is all about fast-paced action, and dive comps? They’re a nightmare if you’re not ready. These heroes hit fast, target single enemies, and strike hard. With 14 dive heroes in Season 1, stopping them isn’t easy. But good news is that you can turn the tables with the right strategies.

Here’s how to shut down dive heroes and take control of the fight.

1) Dodge in the Opposite Direction

Some heroes—like Hulk—leap straight at you, ready to smash. The trick? Move in the opposite direction just before they land. Timing is everything. Nail it, and you’ll dodge their attack, leaving them wide open. Since dive heroes need time to reset, this gives you a perfect chance to counter.

2) Get Up Close and Personal

Sounds crazy, right? But staying close can actually mess them up. Heroes like Venom thrive at mid-range. Get too close, and they struggle to land hits. If your hero has crowd-control abilities—stuns, slows, or knockbacks—use them to break their rhythm and punish their mistakes.

3) Use the Environment

Walls. Pillars. Tight spaces. They’re your best friends. Heroes like Spider-Man and Thor rely on open spaces to execute their moves. Block their dashes by staying in narrow areas, and you’ll force them into bad positions. Example? Spiderman struggles when he can’t swing freely. Trap him, and he’s an easy target.

4) Take the High Ground

It’s not just a meme—it works. Dive heroes like Black Panther and Magik have trouble reaching high ground. They rely on quick bursts, but climbing slows them down. Use that to your advantage. Set up ambushes, control the battlefield, and force them to waste time while you stay in control.

5) Stick With Your Team

Alone? You’re an easy target. Stick with your teammates to minimize a dive hero’s impact. Healers like Mantis or Cloak and Dagger can keep you in the fight longer, while stuns and blinds shut down aggressive attackers. Communication is key call out enemy dives, stay together, and turn the tables on them.
