In the final of the DC vs RCB Women’s Premier League (WPL 2026) match, the batting team Delhi Capitals produced an exceptional batting show by scoring an enormous 203/4 in 20 overs after being asked to bat first in the match. RCB skipper Mandhana’s decision to bowl after the toss did not go in her favor as the DC batters produced a complete show, indicating their intent of winning the tournament.
But RCB’s captain Smriti and Georgia Voll built the biggest partnership of WPL history where Voll contributed with 79 runs and Smriti made 87 runs. Adding to this Radha Yadav smashed 2 fours in last over when 10 was needed off 6 balls and claimed the 2nd WPL title for RCB. Smriti Mandhana also won the orange cap of the WPL 2026 season and became the first Indian to claim it in WPL history.

DC vs RCB: Explosive Opening Sets the Tone for Delhi Capitals

After Shafali got out, Lizelle Lee made sure that the pressure was maintained on RCB. Lee played an excellent innings, scoring 37 runs, as she got the boundary every now and then.
Jemimah Rodrigues and Wolvaardt Dominate Middle Overs
The middle of the innings belonged to Laura Wolvaardt and captain Jemimah Rodrigues, and the two batswomen completely unsettled the RCB bowling unit. Wolvaardt scored an impressive blazing knock of 44 runs off 25 balls, which included 3 fours and 2 sixes, showing her elegant batting style.
Captain Jemimah Rodrigues led by example with a top-class captain’s knock, scoring 57 runs off 37 balls with 8 fours in an display of cool, composed, and mature cricket. Their explosive combination set the stage for a large total in that high-voltage DC match against RCB.
Chinelle Henry’s Fireworks Seal DC’s Double Century
In the final overs, absolute carnage ensued, and the credit went to Chinelle Henry, who dominated the show with her fearless finishing. She smashed 35 unbeaten runs off just 15 balls, taking the total to more than 200.
The highlight of the innings came in the 19th over, where Chinelle Henry went on a brutal attack on the RCB bowler, Nadine De Klerk. Henry dispatched four consecutive fours, completing the over with a six. She scored 24 runs on the day, leaving RCB staring. Smriti Mandhana of RCB looked disappointed with the way this over went for DC.
Early Setback Fails to Slow RCB’s Charge
At the WPL 2026 final, Royal Challengers Bengaluru were in a chase, and what a chase it was, despite a big blow that occurred early in the second innings, as Grace Harris fell to a dismissal just within the seventh ball. From there, Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Voll made a task out of nothing, leaving Delhi Capitals puzzled.
Record-Breaking Partnership Leaves DC Helpless
Smriti Mandhana and Voll stitched an excellent partnership of 165 runs, which took down the DC bowling attack without any problems. It was outstanding to see their capability of reading their partners and targeting openings. Georgia Voll was completely aggressive from the beginning. As soon as Smriti Mandhana found her rhythm, this was considered an inevitable chase.
The pair rotated strike with ease, made full use of loose deliveries, and used unmanned areas with accuracy, making the huge scorecard appear to be well within reach for the encounter in the WPL 2026 Finals.
Late Twist Brings DC Back Into Contention
Just when RCB were coasting home, Delhi Capitals responded with the wickets of three top order batsmen, sending tension back into the game. However, the game was brought back into balance with a thrilling finish in the last over of the game. With 10 runs required from the last 6 balls, the pressure was intense.
Radha Yadav Delivers Under Pressure
In a moment of sheer composure, Radha Yadav proved her worth for RCB. She hit two vital boundaries in the last over, securing the chase for RCB and thereby winning the match for her side. Thus, under her calm and composed finish, Royal Challengers Bengaluru won its second WPL trophy.
