England and New Zealand are currently playing the third and the last Test match in Headingley stadium. After New Zealand decided to bat first against England, they made 329 runs and then invited England to bat.
New Zealand bowlers took some early wickets in the game which help them make this match look one sided as England were 83/6 at some point. But England batters Jonny Bairstow and Jamie Overton played wonderful innings to make England stable in this last match of the 3-match Test series. England has already won this series after they won both first and second Test at Lord’s and Trent Bridge respectively.
Jonny Bairstow scored 163 runs whereas his partner Jamie Overton scored 97 and was just missed out on his well deserved century. Jonny Bairstow crossed 150 runs again and it was the third time that the Punjab Kings’ batter has reached this mark in his Test career.
Jonny Bairstow played some classy shots in the game. He also reached his 150 runs in just 144 balls. Only England cricket team skipper Ben Stokes has reached this runs in fewer balls for England in Test cricket. Jonny is in some form for England not only in Test cricket but in T20Is as well.
