England are unchanged, while Pakistan have brought in Shaheen Afridi in place of Faheem Ashraf

England and Pakistan will go head-to-head in the upcoming match of the Super Eight stage of the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup. A lot is riding on this match, as a win in this contest will guarantee England a place in the semi-final, whereas if Pakistan comes out on top, it will make things interesting in the matches to come, as far as Group 2 is concerned.

If we talk about the form of both teams coming into this game, England got the better of Sri Lanka in a low-scoring encounter, while Pakistan’s first game of the Super Eight leg against England was called off without a ball being bowled.

The Harry Brook-led side will look towards its captain to lead from the front, but would also hope for their top three batters to click together, which they have failed to do. Having said that, the likes of Phillip Salt and Jacob Bethell have got going individually and would want to have a good outing against Pakistan as well.

England would be concerned about the form of former captain Jos Buttler, who has looked out of touch in the tournament till now, and would back him to get some runs under his belt in order to gain confidence for the matches to come.

Pakistan, on the other hand, would bank on its batters to put an above-par total on the board and give the bowlers a good chance of creating pressure in the opposition by picking up wickets in the first six overs.
