The 2025-26 FIH Hockey Pro League is the top international hockey league in the world, where the best nations play each other home and away across the season. England’s men’s team, coached by Zak Jones, began their campaign in December 2025 and have so far played 14 matches, going through a tough early phase before turning things around brilliantly on home soil at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre in London.
With two more matches still to come this weekend, here is a full detail of every match so far.

Venue 1: Dublin, Ireland

Match 1: England vs Germany
England got off to a very difficult start. Germany took the lead as early as the 7th minute through a field goal from Matteo Poljaric. England got back level in the 16th minute when Nicholas Bandurak converted a penalty corner to make it 1-1. But Germany was better on the day. Justus Weigand scored a field goal in the 23rd minute to put Germany back ahead. Henrik Mertgens added a third in the 41st minute, and Elian Mazkour sealed it with a fourth in the 60th minute, right at the final whistle. A tough 1-4 loss to begin. Jakob Brilla won Player of the Match for Germany.
Match 2: Belgium vs England
England’s Henry Croft scored from a penalty corner in the 15th minute to give England the lead. Belgium fought back. Arno Van Dessel equalized in the 47th minute with a field goal, then Nelson Onana put Belgium ahead in the 53rd minute. It looked like England would lose, but Jacob Payton scored a field goal right in the 60th minute to make it 2-2.
The match went to a shootout. England won it 3-2, with Thomas Sorsby scoring the decisive goal. England took two points from what looked like a lost cause. Croft was named Player of the Match.
Match 3: Germany vs England
England got their revenge on Germany in style. James Gall opened the scoring with a field goal in the 34th minute. Henry Croft added a second in the 46th minute. Samuel Hooper made it 3-0 with a penalty corner in the 49th minute. Nicholas Bandurak wrapped it up with a fourth via a field goal in the 56th minute. Germany got a late consolation through Benedikt Schwarzhaupt’s penalty corner also in the 56th minute, but England were well in control.
Match 4: England vs Belgium
England started well, and Nicholas Park scored a field goal in the 10th minute. But Belgium’s Alexander Hendrickx levelled with a penalty corner in the 17th minute, and Tom Boon put Belgium ahead with another penalty corner in the 23rd minute.
Will Calnan equalized for England in the 34th minute. But Tom Boon struck again in the 40th minute with a field goal to win it for Belgium. England lost 2-3. Tom Boon was unstoppable and took Player of the Match.
Venue 2: Valencia, Spain (February 2026)

Match 5: England vs Netherlands
Zachary Wallace scored a field goal in the 8th minute to put England ahead. Samuel Hooper added a second via penalty corner in the 10th minute, and England were 2-0 up in just 10 minutes. The
Netherlands pulled one back through Tijmen Reyenga’s penalty corner in the 22nd minute. The Dutch then earned a penalty stroke in the 57th minute, converted by Miles Bukkens to make it 2-2, with England’s Conor Williamson going to the sin bin around the same time.
The shootout was nervy, but England held on to win 3-1, with goalkeeper James Mazarelo making crucial saves and he himself was named Player of the Match.
Match 6: Spain vs England
Samuel Hooper put England in front with a penalty corner in just the 5th minute. Spain equalised through Marc Miralles’ penalty corner in the 18th minute. But Nicholas Bandurak restored England’s lead with a field goal in the 24th minute, and veteran Sam Ward sealed it with a field goal in the 53rd minute. A composed 3-1 victory on Spanish soil and James Albery was named Player of the Match.
Match 7: Netherlands vs England The
Netherlands struck first through Guus Jansen’s penalty corner in the 23rd minute. Henry Croft equalized for England with a penalty corner in the 28th minute. The Netherlands went ahead again when Jonas de Geus scored from a penalty corner in the 34th minute.
England needed a big moment and got one when Henry Croft scored again in the 60th minute with a field goal to level it at 2-2, saving England from defeat.
The shootout was epic, going through multiple rounds. England eventually won 4-3 in a tense finish.
Match 8: Spain vs England
England completed a sweep of the Valencia leg with another convincing win over Spain. Jacob Payton scored from a penalty corner early in the 4th minute. Sam Ward added a penalty corner goal in the 26th minute to make it 2-0.
Spain hit back through Jose Basterra, first a field goal in the 28th minute, then a penalty corner in the 38th minute to make it 2-2. But Stuart Rushmere put England back ahead with a field goal in the 42nd minute. Ward then sealed the match with a second goal, a field goal in the 59th minute.

Match 9: England vs Argentina
One of England’s best performances of the season. Henry Croft opened the scoring with a field goal in the 18th minute. Sam Ward added a second in the 41st minute. Nicholas Bandurak made it 3-0 with a penalty corner in the 47th minute.
Henry Croft scored his second of the match in the 51st minute. Thomas Sorsby wrapped up a stunning 5-0 win with a penalty corner in the 58th minute. Conor Williamson won Player of the Match.
Match 10: England vs Australia
A brilliant win against one of the world’s toughest sides. Australia struck early, with Nathan Ephraums scoring a field goal in the 13th minute to make it 0-1. More goal details of England’s reply in this match were not fully captured in real time, but the final official result confirmed England won 4-3, their second straight home win.
Match 11: England vs Argentina
A second match against Argentina, and this one was much tighter. The game ended 1-1 after normal time, and England won the shootout 3-1 to take another two points.
Match 12: England vs Australia
England beat Australia for the second time in eight days. Nicholas Bandurak scored twice, a field goal in the 40th minute and another in the 47th minute. James Gall added a penalty corner in the 56th minute to seal a 3-1 win.
Australia’s only goal came from Campbell Geddes’ penalty corner in the 41st minute.
Match 13: England vs Pakistan
A close encounter with Pakistan in what was England’s first Pro League meeting with them this season. Pakistan actually scored first; Waheed Ashraf Rana scored a field goal in the 27th minute. England needed to respond and did, Phil Roper equalized with a field goal in the 40th minute. Samuel Hooper then fired England in front with a penalty corner in the 46th minute to win it 2-1.
Match 14: England vs India
An exciting evening match under the lights at Lee Valley. India’s Dilpreet Singh gave India the lead with a field goal in the 10th minute. David Goodfield equalised for England with a field goal in the 29th minute, making it 1-1 at half-time. Nicholas Bandurak put England ahead with a penalty corner in the 56th minute. Then India struck back with Dilpreet Singh’s second goal, also a field goal, in the 58th minute, making it 2-2. A nervy finish.
England dominated the shootout, winning 4-1. Thomas Sorsby, James Albery, and Zachary Wallace (twice) all converted.
