England vs India, the 5th T20 International match of the India tour to England, the final T20I showdown is set to begin at the Rose Bowl, Southampton. The match began after a delay of nearly 25–30 minutes due to some drizzling at Southampton.
The last T20I clash of this series will be crucial for India, as the Indian side hasn’t registered any win in this series, as the champions of the series were already decided, as England lead 3-0 in the series after the 9th July 2026 victory at Bristol in the 4th T20I. As it is the last match of the series, there can be a few changes on both sides, as young players and the bench strength of the teams can be tested in this match.
After a difficult phase for Team India, after losing two series in a row, the captain and team management are facing huge backlash, and Shreyas’s captaincy career started with huge controversies. Today’s clash at the Rose Bowl is a vital one for Team India as they look to protect their reputation in the shortest format of international cricket.
England vs India: Toss Update, Shreyas Iyer Opted to Bowl First
England vs India, the 5th T20I’s toss began after nearly half an hour of rain at the venue. Both captains, Shreyas Iyer and Harry Brook, gathered at the center for the all-important toss.
India won the toss and elected to field first, as Shreyas Iyer, the Indian captain, has been on a streak of winning each toss, as starting from his captaincy career’s first Belfast T20I against Ireland to today at the Rose Bowl, he won his 7th toss in a row.
After winning the toss, the Indian side has made a couple of changes to the XI today. Suryansh Shedge comes in for Washington Sundar, and Sanju Samson comes back into the playing XI, replacing Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
