Europa League: Manchester United thrashed Roma in the first leg of Semi-final
United scored six goals and took a lead of four goals before moving to the second leg
Manchester United made goals rain at Old Trafford as they scored six past, Roma to defeat them by 6-2. Bruno Fernandes and Edison Cavani scored two goals each whereas Paul Pogba and substitute Greenwood scored one each. United scored five of the six goals in the second half as they were trailing by one goal at half-time. United now has a lead of four goals and they will be playing the second leg on 7th May(IST) at Stadio Olimpico.
United began the match brightly as Bruno scored in the 9th minute of the game. Roma replied well with two goals and had the advantage at half-time. United made the second-half raining goals as Cavani scored in the 48th minute. From then United didn’t Roma a chance to make a comeback as scored back-to-back goals. Apart from scoring two goals Bruno and Cavani assisted two each.
Now it will be interesting to watch Roma in the second leg if they can make a comeback or not. Roma will need at least 4 goals with the addition of a clean sheet to advance to the final.
