FIFA Club World Cup 2025: Format
The format in the FIFA Club World Cup is the same as that of the competition in which nations contest. The number of teams have been expanded and for the first time in its 24-year history, 32 clubs will take part in the Club World Cup.
Teams that win the continental club competitions, such as the Champions League qualify for the tournament and it is also based on confederation’s four-year rankings.
Of the 32 teams, Europe (whose confederation is UEFA) has the most representation with 12 teams, followed by South America (CONMEBOL) with six teams.
There are four teams each from Asia (AFC), Africa (AFC) & North, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF).
Oceania (OFC) has one team, while the final slot was allocated to the host nation’s domestic champions, which is Inter Miami.
