WWE Monday Night RAW ended 2025 with a packed episode from Orlando. Two championships were defended, a major return took place, and several storylines moved forward before the big Netflix anniversary show.

Stephanie Vaquer kept her Women’s World Championship. The Usos became tag team champions once again. Penta returned to help Rey Mysterio. CM Punk and Bron Breakker heated things up on the mic.

Even with all these moments, the show was not perfect. WWE missed a few key chances that could have made the episode even stronger.

Here are three mistakes WWE made on the final RAW of 2025.

3. Weakening AJ Styles to Elevate The Usos

The Usos won the World Tag Team Championship by defeating AJ Styles and Dragon Lee in the main event. The title change itself made sense and gave the tag division fresh energy.

The problem came with how the match was booked. Jey Uso kicked out of the Styles Clash, one of the most protected finishers in WWE history.

Finishers are supposed to end matches. When they stop feeling special, everyone suffers. If someone like Roman Reigns or Gunther had kicked out, it would feel believable. In a random tag match, it only hurt AJ Styles.

This booking also makes Styles feel less important moving forward, especially with rumors of a major singles feud coming soon.

2. Gunther Not Destroying R-Truth Quickly

Gunther has been positioned as a dominant force after defeating John Cena. His arrogance and disrespect have been a big part of his character.

When R-Truth confronted him on RAW, it should have ended fast. Instead, the match lasted several minutes and gave Truth more offense than expected.

This was the perfect chance for Gunther to make a statement with a quick and brutal win. WWE has done short squash matches before, so this moment felt wasted.

Gunther should look unstoppable. Letting Truth hang around only weakened that image.

1. Missing a Huge Moment With Jey Uso

Jey Uso has shown doubt and frustration ever since losing the World Heavyweight Championship. He has failed in big matches and important tournaments, and the story has been building slowly.

There was a clear chance to turn that frustration into something bigger. A heel turn or shocking decision could have changed Jey’s path heading into 2026.

Instead, WWE played it safe. Reforming The Usos and winning tag titles did not change Jey’s character. Fans have seen this story many times before.

A bold move could have given Jey new life and created buzz going into the new year. WWE chose comfort over creativity here.
