Finn Allen delivered one of the finest batting performances of IPL 2026 as he smashed an unbeaten 100 off just 47 balls for Kolkata Knight Riders against Delhi Capitals on May 8, 2026. His innings included 5 fours and 10 sixes, while he batted at a stunning strike rate of 212.77.

This was also the first IPL century of his career. With this knock, Finn Allen became only the fourth batter in KKR history to score an IPL hundred after Brendon McCullum, Venkatesh Iyer, and Sunil Narine.

He also became the second New Zealand player, after McCullum, to score a century for KKR in the IPL. His fearless batting helped KKR chase down the 143-run target with 34 balls remaining. The victory was also Kolkata’s fourth consecutive win of the season. Finn Allen’s innings showed how confidence, timing, and attacking cricket can completely change the flow of a match.

Finn Allen Powers KKR’s Four-Match Winning Run in IPL 2026 Playoff Race

Kolkata Knight Riders have made a strong comeback in IPL 2026 after struggling earlier in the season. As of May 9, 2026, KKR is placed seventh on the points table with 9 points from 10 matches, winning 4 games and losing 5. Their recent form has been impressive, as they are currently on a four-match winning streak that has kept their playoff hopes alive.

The biggest moment came against the Delhi Capitals when Finn Allen smashed an unbeaten 100 off 47 balls. His innings helped KKR secure an eight-wicket victory and also improved their Net Run Rate to -0.169. Under captain Ajinkya Rahane, KKR have shown better consistency in May, including important wins over Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi.

The team also entered a new phase after parting ways with Andre Russell, who moved into a coaching role. Upcoming matches against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans could decide KKR’s playoff future.
