WWE has had constant roster changes throughout its history. Some wrestlers retire, some leave due to injury and others move on when their contracts expire or they are released. That’s why surprise returns are always part of the wrestling business.

As the WrestleMania season has passed, WWE has seen some big roster changes once again. There were a number of big names that were let go or chose not to re-up. That situation has now opened the door for possible comebacks in the future.

There are plenty of former stars who are active right now outside of WWE, but if things keep going well on both sides, a return can happen at any time.

Below are some ex-WWE names that could make shock returns in the near future.

Baron Corbin Could Return With A Fresh Start

For years, Baron Corbin has been in WWE, playing various heel characters. Whether fans knew him as the Lone Wolf, Happy Corbin or Constable Corbin, he always managed to get a reaction from the crowd.

Corbin was part of the Wolfdogs with Bron Breakker in NXT during the later part of his WWE run. The pair quickly became a hit and even won the NXT Tag Team Championships.

Corbin left WWE but still wrestled and found success in other promotions. Talks and reports about his name are still going on, especially since WWE’s tag team division could use some experienced talent.

A future return wouldn’t be shocking at all, especially if WWE is looking to bring back more experienced stars on television.

Fans Still Fully Behind Dijak

Dijak has built a good fanbase from his time in NXT. His size, athleticism and hard-hitting style of wrestling helped set him apart from many of the other wrestlers on the roster.

He was on the main roster for a little while but WWE never really pushed him before he left due to his contract situation.

Dijak has remained active in wrestling since leaving the company and still has a lot of online support. WWE, many fans think, never really used him to his full potential.

He left quietly and not in great controversy so a return could be possible in the future. WWE can easily place him in the singles division or even re-establish him as a dominant force on Monday Night RAW or Friday Night SmackDown.

Enzo Amore Recently Appeared At The WWE Performance Center

Enzo Amore is still one of the most entertaining talkers the WWE has had in recent years. He was a massive star with his microphone skills during his time with Big Cass.

His WWE career ended in controversy years ago but recent reports of him visiting the WWE Performance Centre have made fans stir up new rumours.

WWE often brings in former wrestlers to the Performance Centre to coach or make guest appearances. Promo ability is very important in wrestling, so Enzo could help younger NXT stars possibly get better at speaking.

There is also the possibility that WWE may test the waters with the audience at some point for a bigger return down the line.

Big Cass Could Also Return To WWE

Recent return talks have also included Big Bill (formerly known as Big Cass in WWE).

The tall powerhouse made a name for himself first as one-half of the tag team Enzo and Cass during the black-and-gold NXT era. WWE once viewed him as a possible future main-event player because of his physical presence and charisma.

Big Bill left WWE and after wrestling for several promotions he signed for All Elite Wrestling. But lately, his TV appearances have been drying up, leading fans to wonder about his future.

If both sides are interested, a comeback could make sense with WWE valuing larger athletes and more experienced performers again.

WWE Fans Love Surprise Returns

One of the reasons WWE returns are always a source of excitement is because fans love unpredictability. A surprise entrance at RAW, SmackDown or a premium live event can generate instant huge reactions online and inside arenas.

Modern WWE also continues to place a heavy emphasis on nostalgia and familiar faces. Former stars returning also helps to reconnect old fans and create fresh storylines for current viewers.

With a lot of contracts up in the air and a bunch of free agents floating around, the next few months could bring even more surprise WWE returns.

For the time being, wrestling fans will continue to watch closely which former stars eventually walk back through the WWE curtain again.
