Four Hills Tournament 2024-25: Austria Sweep Podium In Ski Jumping World Cup Opener
Reigning Four Hills champion Kobayashi Ryoyu of Japan was unable to reverse his disappointing start to the season as he finished 18th place, one spot behind fellow Japanese Nakamura Naoki.

The FIS Ski Jumping World Cup season opener, the Four Hills Tournament, got underway from December 28, 2024 and will run through until January 6, 2025.
One of the annual highlights of the Ski jumping World Cup season, the Four Hills Tournament, was held in Oberstdorf on Sunday (29 December) in which Austria registered a podium sweep.
Ski jumping World Cup crystal globe holder Stefan Kraft spearheaded the Austrian feat in the Round One.
Kraft claimed his first FIS World Cup victory of the season with a total score of 335.1 points. He consolidated his lead from the first round by sticking his landing in the second, despite difficult wind conditions. It was the 44th individual World Cup win for the former world champion.
The 31-year-old landed jumps of 138m and 135.5m to move past Jan Hoerl (331.6) with Daniel Tschofenig (323.6) making it an all-Austrian podium. Germany’s World Cup leader and home favourite Pius Paschke was fourth with Johann Andre Forfang of Norway finishing fifth.
