With almost $238.2 million in player spending, Tencent’s Honor of Kings was the highest-grossing mobile game globally in June 2022. The majority (around 95%) of Honor of Kings’ income came from China, followed by 2% from Taiwan and 1.7% from Thailand. Above is a list of all the top-grossing mobile games as of June 2022. The Genshin Impact from miHoYo

With $154 million in gross revenue for June 2022, Genshin Impact from miHoYo ranked second globally among mobile games, up 58.5 percent from the same month the previous year. China contributed over 44 percent of Genshin Impact’s income, and Japan contributed about 25.5%. Next in line for top revenue was Tencent’s PUBG Mobile, which was then followed by Niantic’s Pokémon GO and King’s Candy Crush Saga.

In June 2022, player spending on the App Store and Google Play combined to generate an estimated $6.4 billion for the worldwide mobile games market, a reduction of almost 10% year over year. The U.S. earned $1.8 billion, or 28.4% of all players spending globally, in June 2022, making it the top market globally. China, where Google Play is not available, came in second with 18.7 percent of revenue, followed by Japan at 19.3 percent.

The June Revenue

With revenue of $110.2 million in June, Pokémon GO had its highest month of the year thus far. This is an increase of about 58 percent from May 2022 and 11.8 percent over the previous year. This occurred during the global Pokémon GO Fest, which takes place on June 4–5 and is the location-based game’s biggest event of the year. To participate, users must buy a ticket in-game. On June 3, player spending in the game increased to $7.8 million, and over the next two days, it reached about $16 million.

Following the lifting of social distance limits in several nations around the world, additional in-person Pokémon GO Fest activities are happening in July. Chinese Gaming and Technology

Tencent, a Chinese gaming and technology behemoth, continued to rule the mobile game industry in July 2022. With an average player spend of $225.88, Tencent’s Honor of Kings took the top spot in terms of overall income. It is followed by PUBG Mobile’s earnings of over $164.3 million. Both games mainly rely on the Chinese mobile gaming industry, with Honor of Kings receiving approximately 95% of its revenue from China and PUBG Mobile receiving roughly 69%; the latter is known as “Game for Peace” in that nation.

Taiwan and Thailand were the second- and third-highest revenue-producing countries for Honor of Kings, bringing in 2% and 1.6% of total revenue, respectively. However, as the game is expanding internationally and is already in closed beta, other nations may soon start ranking and possibly overtaking Taiwan and Thailand; however, it is currently unlikely that China will overtake Taiwan and Thailand.

In terms of overall revenue, King’s Candy Crush Saga comes in at number four, miHoYo’s Genshin Impact comes in at number three, and Roblox comes in at number five. In July 2022, gamers spent nearly $6.7 billion on mobile games throughout the App Store and Google Play, while Google Play isn’t accessible in China, according to Sensor Tower statistics.

With almost $1.9 million (28.4%) in revenue from player spending, the US leads the world, followed by Japan (20%) and China (17.8%). Of course, China’s performance is somewhat suspect because Google services are not available there. Diablo Immortal from Activision Blizzard and NetEase returned to the App Store’s Top 10 after generating over $100 million in total revenue and surpassing 30 million downloads, while Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle from Bandai Namco brought in over $70 million from worldwide player spending.
