Houston Open 2025: Min Woo Claims His First PGA Tour Title

The Houston Open 2025, one of the most awaited tournaments of the PGA Tour 2025, ended yesterday with a thrilling game. The tournament was played at the Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston, Texas, and featured a massive prize pool of $9.5 million. The tournament featured a number of prominent golf players like Rory Mcllory and Scotti Scheffler, but the trophy was claimed by the young promising talent, Min Woo Lee.

The victory also marked a significant milestone in his career as it was his maiden PGA Tour title. He finished with an impressive score of 20-under par (260) after rounds of 66, 64, 63, and 67 and stunned Scotti Scheffler, who finished second. Lee entered the final round with a four-stroke lead and maintained control for most of the day, facing intense competition from Scheffler and Garry Woodland. Despite a lot of pressure, he managed to pull out the victory by one stroke over Scheffler and Woodland, who both finished as 19-under par.

His victory came as a surprise, though he had showcased exceptional form throughout the Houston Open and was specifically successful due to his ability to be calm and composed under pressure. He expressed his excitement as he won his first PGA Tour title and said, “That’s why Sundays are so tough. You know people are creeping. You know people are attacking. It was a very mentally grinding day, but I’m super proud to win. I always felt like I had the assets to win, It was just, ‘Can you do it, mentally?’”

His question was if he could do it mentally. Well, as it turns out, he can, and he did. Lee took home $1.71 million and 500 FedEx Cup points with his incredible performance that included a notable stretch of 41 holes without a bogey before his slip on the 16th. The victory not only adds to Lee’s reputation as a rising star in golf but also sets him apart as one of the few players to win their maiden title at this very tournament.
