“I am sure this knock will help him gain more confidence”- Shikhar Dhawan on KL Rahul finding form
Shikhar Dhawan couldn’t stop praising his Indian teammate KL Rahul for his solid comeback with the bat in the first ODI in Pune against England.
Entering to bat at number 5, KL Rahul scored 62 off 43 balls and helped team India cross the mark of 300 to reach 317 in their stipulated 50 overs. Rahul also claimed three catches as a wicket-keeper in the first ODI.
Rahul had a tremendous fall in his batting skills during T20Is as he hit only 15 runs in the last five innings in international cricket.
Keeping in mind his torrid performance in the T20Is, Shikhar Dhawan believes Rahul will gain a lot of confidence from his amazing fifty.
During the post-match conference, Dhawan referred to Rahul as a ‘class player’ and believes that he will be more fluent in upcoming matches.
“It was great to see KL Rahul score a half-century. He’s a class player and we all love watching him play. Failures make champion players stronger. I’m sure he’s a much stronger player now. The way he came in today and helped us cross the 300-mark was great to watch. I am sure this knock will help him gain more confidence and we will watch him bat more fluently,” the top scorer of the 1st ODI, Shikhar Dhawan said.
Kl Rahul is highly known because of his batting skills. Despite his few failures, he remains India’s highest-ranked T20I batsman.
