Australian pacer Mitchell Starc is hoping that he will play in the ongoing ODI series against Sri Lanka despite having a finger injury. Mitchell Starc got injured in the 3-match T20I series against Sri Lanka which was played before these ODIs. He hurt his finger in the very first over of the game but still completed his spell of four overs.

Australian pace bowler bowled a great spell as he took three wickets in that game. After the game, his finger was analysed and doctors said it will not be possible for him (Mitchell Starc) to play in the remaining games and also doubtful for the ODI series.

“I am still holding onto hope that I will (play in the ODI series against Sri Lanka). If it’s game three, four, or five, I’m not sure yet. We’re just making sure we are not compromising the Test series,” said Mitchell Starc as reported by TOI.

The ongoing ODI series between Australia and Sri Lanka is tied at 1-1 after Sri Lanka won the second ODI on Thursday, 16th June. Sri Lanka bowled out Australia on 189 runs and won the match by 26 runs (DLS Method).
