Australian star pacer Mitchell Starc has said that he loves playing for country rather than playing for franchise. The pace bowler won’t be featuring for the new season’s Big Bash League (an Australian cricket league). Mitchell Starc also don’t play in Indian Premier League as he thinks the franchise cricket is not much important.

Mitchell Starc wants to perform for country and doesn’t care about the franchise cricket much. The Australian pacer hasn’t featured in Big Bash League (BBL) since 2014-15 season. Not only in BBL but he featured in the most popular league of cricket i.e. Indian Premier League only twice. Mitchell Starc last played in the IPL in 2015. He has played for the franchise named Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL in 2014 and 2015 season. He is the one of the best white-ball pacer currently but doesn’t like to represent any franchise in any white-ball tournament. Fitness and health are also one of the main reasons he doesn’t want to give much time to franchise cricket. He (Mitchell Starc) like representing his country rather than any franchise.

“I will always keep Australian cricket front of mind, and then franchise cricket. The schedule in the next 18 months is ridiculous. My approach with all franchise cricket hasn’t changed over the last seven years,” said Mitchell Starc as reported by ESPNcricinfo.com
