Former Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting has spoken in support of Virat Kohli who is not in a brightest of his form currently. The former Australian skipper feels Virat needs a bit of time and a bit of confidence from his teammates as well as the team management. Ricky Ponting also made a statement regarding his (Virat Kohli) poor batting form.
The former Indian skipper is not in a good form and there are lot of rumours that he could be dropped from India’s playing XI. But Ricky Ponting thinks the other way. He feels Virat is a world-class players who needs to feel comfortable and not thinking much about his current form.
“I think if I was a captain or a coach around the Indian set up, I will be making life as easy as possible for him to feel as comfortable as possible, and just wait for him to flick the switch and start scoring runs again,” said Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting on Virat Kohli via ICC Review.
Ricky Ponting feels it is normal to have a phase like this and advices team India to make him comfortable as possible at this time when everything is going against him.
