IFSC Sport Climbing World Cup 2025 Bali Edition: Top Athletes In Contention

The IFSC Sport Climbing World Cup 2025 is ready for its next stop, bringing yet another action-filled weekend. This time the events will take place in Bali, Indonesia. 

Bali will host the IFSC Sport Climbing World Cup from May 2-4, 2025, making a historic debut. 

The competition will feature both lead and speed disciplines.

Bali’s inaugural World Cup event promises exotic setting thanks to climbing walls installed near the ocean, offering athletes and spectators a scenic competition environment. 

The event marks the conclusion of the Asian leg of the 2025 season, following competitions in Keqiao and Wujiang, People’s Republic of China.

IFSC Sport Climbing World Cup Bali 2025: Sport climbers to watch for

Several international athletes will be in contention in Bali. Paris Olympics 2024 speed champion Veddriq Leonardo and reigning women’s speed world champion Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi will lead the home charge.

Japan’s Anraku Sorato and Suzuki Neo, the top two finishers in men’s in Wujiang, and Tokyo 2020 gold medallist Alberto Ginés López of Spain, who secured bronze behind the Japanese pair last weekend will be in action. One can expect thrilling competition between them. 

In the women’s field, Great Britain’s Erin McNeice and Republic of Korea’s Seo Chae-hyun- both shared gold in Wujiang- will be looking for yet another yellow medal. USA’s Annie Sanders, who won a bronze in Wujiang and gold in Keqia (for Boulder) will be eyeing yet another podium finish.
