IND vs AUS: India Under-19s (U-19) dominated Australia Under-19s (U-19) in Brisbane, winning a comprehensive innings win to lead 1-0 in their two-match Youth Test series. Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Match-Defining Century In IND vs AUS

The Indian side was on a roll in the first innings, and Vaibhav Suryavanshi was at the forefront. Suryavanshi took a chance and stroked 113 off just 86 balls, which included not just nine fours, but also eight sixes. His batting set the tone for the visitors and gave them a great base on which to launch themselves. With Suryavanshi’s century in lightning quick time, keeping India U-19s on a tough total track.

Vedant Trivedi Shines with a Brilliant 140

In the wake of Suryavanshi’s explosive knock, Vedant Trivedi rose to the occasion and played a patient, but assertive inning of 140. The Gujarat batter’s knock, consisting of 19 fours, held India’s first innings together and brought much-needed stability. India accumulated 428 with the help of Trivedi, claiming an 185-run lead over Australia.

Deepesh’s Bowling Masterclass Shatters Australia U-19

India U-19s’ bowlers retaliated in style in response, and they were in top form. D Deepesh gave a performance for the ages. The right-arm speedster, son of former Tamil Nadu player Vasudevan Devendran, bagged 5 wickets for 45 runs, aiding the dismissal of Australia for a mere 243 in their first innings.

In addition to Deepesh, left-arm seamer Kishan Kumar was also good, picking three wickets to further stem the Australian batting line-up. The lone major resistance was provided by Steven Hogan, who battled stoutly with a 92-run contribution off 246 deliveries.

Khilan Patel and Deepesh Take Charge in Australia’s Second Innings

Australia’s second innings saw the team also struggling, being reduced to a sticky 24 for 3 through some outstanding fast bowling by Deepesh and Kishan. Khilan Patel, the Gujarat all-rounder, then stepped up with the ball as well, taking 3 wickets for a mere 19 runs, and completing the middle-order shutout. A rebellious 43 by Aryan Sharma put off the inevitable, but Deepesh quickly tidied up the tail, taking 3 for 16 to send Australia for just 129.

India U-19 To Play Final Test on October 7

With this commanding performance, India U-19s lead 1-0 going into the second game of the series. The two sides will confront each other in Brisbane on October 7, where Australia will seek redemption while India will look to wrap up the series with another clinical show.
