When it comes to Rishabh Pant, there was no stopping him or his swashbuckling hit of 77 off 40 balls in the second match of the ODI series between India and England that took place in Pune on Friday. When India lost skipper Virat Kohli with 66 runs off 79 balls, during the 32nd over, Pant joined KL Rahul in the middle and put on 113 runs for the fourth wicket.
The Delhi-based wicketkeeper’s innings, 77 off 40 balls included three fours and 7 sixes making him the first Indian batsman to score such in the ODI series. Rishabh was eventually dismissed by England’s brilliant player Tom Curran after making his side past the 300-mark. Looking backward, the 23-year-old cricketer’s previous record was 7, which came against West Indies in Chennai during December 2019.
Talking about the mesmerizing performances, Hardik Pandya didn’t let the team down. He smashed four sixes and pulled off a 16-ball 35 cameo to help India finish at 336.
