Team India has sealed the ongoing T20 series against South Africa, with a formidable lead of 2-0 in the three-match series. According to sources, the management of the Indian cricket team could make some crucial changes in India’s playing XI during the concluding match of the T20I against South Africa, which will be played in Indore on Tuesday, October 4.
Sources suggest that the former captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli, and the current vice-captain of the Indian cricket team, KL Rahul, could be given a breathing break from the 3rd T20I against South Africa that is scheduled to be played in the evening. The players would probably join the team back in Mumbai just before their departure for the preparatory camp for the ICC event.
After facing the gloomy days, the management would definitely not want to take another risk of exhausting two ace players of India’s top order who have creeped back into their annihilating form, mentally or physically, ahead of the opening match of the T20 World Cup against Pakistan which is scheduled to be played on October 23 at the iconic Melbourne cricket ground.
If the sources are to be held true, the absence of veterans including Virat Kohli and KL Rahul could pave the way for Shreyas Iyer. We’re predicting Shreyas, who is currently a standby player for India’s playing XI in the T20 World Cup tournament, to get some play time for himself in the middle order of the Indian team and to smash some roaring sixes and boundaries during the concluding match of the T20I series against South Africa in Indore.
The third T20I could also prove to be a game changer for the pacer Mohammed Siraj, who was recently picked by the All-India Senior Selection Committee as Bumrah’s replacement in India’s playing XI during the T20 series against South Africa.
