U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 Final: India will aim to defend its title as it faces South Africa in the final of the U19 T20 Women’s World Cup 2025 at Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
Both teams have played excellently throughout the tournament, staying unbeaten on their way to the final.
South Africa won by five wickets against Australia in the first semifinal, while India defeated England by nine wickets in the second semifinal to secure their spot in the final.
Trisha Gongadi is India’s top scorer and also the tournament’s highest scorer with 265 runs in six matches, 89 runs ahead of the next best, Davina Perrin from England.
Jemma Botha is South Africa’s top scorer with 89 runs from five matches.
Vaishnavi Sharma is India’s highest wicket-taker and the tournament’s top wicket-taker with 15 wickets in five matches, maintaining an economy rate of 2.83.
For South Africa, Kayla Reyneke is the top wicket-taker, with 10 wickets in five matches and an economy rate of 4.34.
Niki Sharma will captain India, the defending champions, and Kayla Reyneke will lead South Africa in the final.
India:
India won all their matches, starting with a nine-wicket victory over West Indies. They then beat Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Scotland, and reached the final with a nine-wicket win over England in the semifinals.
South Africa:
South Africa won their opening matches against New Zealand and Samoa, then beat Nigeria and Ireland. Their match with the USA was washed out, keeping them unbeaten. They reached the final by defeating Australia by five wickets in the semifinals.
The final will start at 12 PM IST (2:30 PM local time) on Sunday, February 2, at Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur.
