Australia’s Winning Streak Ends

15 successive wins before the semi-final defeat

Previous defeat: also against India (2017 World Cup semi-final)

Australia came into the game with 15 consecutive victories in the Women’s ODI World Cup, a joint-longest winning streak in the tournament. The streak had stretched back to 2017 and equalled their earlier run from 1993 to 2000.

Once again, it was India women who ended Australia’s dominance, just as they did eight years earlier.

Only the third 300+ chase in ODI knockouts – Men or Women

This game is now a part of a select group of only three successful 300-plus run chases in knockout ODIs — spanning both men’s and women’s cricket:

India (Men) – 315 vs Pakistan, 1998 Independence Cup Final

India (Men) – 326 vs England, 2002 NatWest Series Final

India (Women) – 339 vs Australia, 2025 ODI World Cup Semi-Final
