The Indian blind cricket teams have captured victory at the ongoing International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) World Games 2023, garnering commendations from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah.

Jay Shah lauded the triumphs of both the Indian men’s and women’s blind cricket teams in the IBSA World Games 2023. The Women’s Team showcased remarkable skills by defeating England, while the Men’s Team made a triumphant comeback against Australia. Their outstanding performances radiate hope and inspiration, spreading positivity and pride across the nation. Jay Shah conveyed his heartiest congratulations to both teams for their exceptional achievements.

In the first match, the Indian men’s team experienced a setback against Pakistan but demonstrated resilience by defeating Australia. On the other hand, the women’s team has maintained a winning streak, securing victories in both their matches in the showpiece event.

The men’s team is scheduled to face England on Tuesday, while the women’s team is set to meet Australia on Wednesday in the IBSA World Games 2023 in Birmingham.

Notably, blind cricket in the IBSA World Games commenced with the match between England and Australia, marking a historic moment as the first-ever cricket match held at the World Games.
