Indian Rowers Shine at Asian Games, Secure Spots in Finals for Men’s Double Sculls and Lightweight Double Sculls

Indian rowers Arjun Jat Lal, Arvind Singh, Satnam Singh, and Parminder Singh earn spots in Asian Games finals in impressive performances.

Indian rowers left their mark at the Asian Games with exceptional performances, securing places in the finals of Men’s Double Sculls and Lightweight Double Sculls.

Arjun Jat Lal and Arvind Singh displayed outstanding teamwork, clinching the top position with a remarkable time of 6:55.78s in the Men’s Lightweight Double Sculls event. This secured their spot in the prestigious Final A. Japan followed closely in second place with a timing of 7:05.91s.

In the preliminary heat round, Arjun Lal, who previously competed at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, along with his partner Arvind Singh, exhibited a spirited performance. They finished in second place with a time of 6:27.45s, just trailing behind Japan’s Fan Junjie and Sun Man, who topped the heats with an impressive time of 6:14.97s.

Arjun and Arvind are now poised to compete in the final, scheduled for Sunday.

Meanwhile, Satnam Singh and Parminder Singh made India proud by securing a spot in the final of Men’s Double Sculls. In the heat round, they finished second with a time of 6:27.01s, with China leading the heats with a time of 6:22.76s. However, the Indian duo showed their determination by clocking 6:48.06s in Repechage A, earning them a well-deserved spot in the final. Iraq finished behind India with a time of 6:51.90s, also qualifying for Final A.

Both the finals, Men’s Double Sculls and Lightweight Double Sculls, are set to take place on Sunday, promising more exciting performances from India’s talented rowers.
