Indian Women’s Football Team Start Australian Tour With 5–0 Win Over Perth RedStar FC

The Indian women’s football team made a spectacular start to their Australian preparatory tour, thrashing Perth RedStar FC 5–0 in a closed-door friendly at Dalmatinac Park, Perth, on Thursday, February 19, 2026.

This was Indian Senior Women’s first outing in Australia since arriving on February 11, part of their build-up to the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026. The Blue Tigresses dominated from the first whistle, establishing a 3–0 lead by half-time and never letting up.

Indian Women’s Football Team Dominates

Forward Aveka Singh stole the show with a brace, while Pyari Xaxa, Nirmala Devi Phanjoubam and Sanju also found the back of the net, showcasing India’s attacking depth and clinical finishing. The team maintained control of possession throughout, exploiting the flanks and creating multiple scoring opportunities.

Next Stop: Perth Azzurri

India’s Australian tour continues with a friendly against Perth Azzurri on February 23 at Macedonia Park, Perth, kicking off at 16:00 IST. The coaching staff will use the match to rotate the squad and fine-tune strategies before the Asian Cup.

Prior to Australia, India completed a six-match friendly tour in Türkiye, facing club sides from Ukraine, Russia, Switzerland, Germany, and Romania. The team recorded three wins, one draw, and two defeats.

India’s Blue Tigresses now look forward to continuing their Australian tour, aiming to maintain their form and sharpness before stepping onto the continental stage.
