Injury Updates before 2nd test: BCCI
Just IN: Ajinkya Rahane, Ishant Sharma & Ravindra Jadeja are injured and have been ruled Out Of Mumbai Test vs New Zealand
During the final day of the first Test match in Kanpur, fast bowler Ishant Sharma dislocated his left little finger. As a result, he will miss the 2nd Test in Mumbai. His condition will be closely monitored by the BCCI Medical Team.
Ravindra Jadeja, an all-rounder, sustained a right forearm injury during the first Test match at Kanpur. He was diagnosed with a swelling on his forearm after getting tests. He has been told to take it easy and will therefore miss the 2nd Test in Mumbai.
On the penultimate day of the first Test match in Kanpur, Ajinkya Rahane suffered a slight left hamstring injury while fielding. He has been ruled out of the 2nd Test in Mumbai because he has not fully recovered. The BCCI Medical staff will keep a close eye on his progress.
Skipper Virat Kohli returns to the side after being rested for the first Test. There were doubts about who would make way for Kohli, but now he is set to come in for the struggling Ajinkya Rahane while Shreyas Iyer will keep his place after his record-breaking Test debut in Kanpur.
Speaking on the day before the game, without giving away anything, Kohli had asserted that the management will make the decision based on what is best for the team.
