International badminton Sudhakar Vemuri passes away, Indian badminton players mourn his death
He was the only referee to officiate in three Olympic games from 1992 to 2002 along with 3 Thomas and Uber cups, 2 Asian games and 3 World Cups.

The Badminton world got a very big shock as the international badminton referee from India Sudhakar Vemuri passed away at the age of 72 due to COVID-19. He was the most renowned badminton referee from India and another badminton official from India to succumb to COVID-19 after coach Balachandran Nair passed away on Sunday.
He was the only referee to officiate in three Olympic games from 1992 to 2002 along with 3 Thomas and Uber Cups, 2 Asian Games, and 3 World Cups.
Several players, coaches as well as Badminton Association of India mourned his death and took to various platforms to pay their respect.
