IPL 2021: 3 reasons why Sunrisers Hyderabad lost the match against Mumbai Indians

Sunrisers from Hyderabad can’t get their stuff together as a whole. IPL 2021 has begun on a sour note for the Hyderbad based team and they’re struggling a lot.

For the 3rd consecutive time in IPL 2021, SRH ended up a match, which they’ve featured in on a losing note, and looks like they can’t get their act together in this season thus far. In the last two matches that they ended up losing effort, from actually a comfortable position. They even experimented a lot in this game with their team selection and  Warner is in hot waters for a pretty convoluted team selection. Here are the 3 reasons why SRH lost the game against Mumbai Indians:

1. Poor Fielding efforts

For a valuable result, it is not only bowling or batting that would end up giving an edge, but tight and solid fielding efforts are one of the most important aspects that couldn’t be ignored at any cost and it seems like Sunrisers do not take that clearly.

They dropped catches, conceded unwanted runs and their fielding was downright bad. The standards of fielding this season in IPL haven’t been of much to talk about as in each and every match, there are 3-4 dropped opportunities and lazy fielding efforts. Probably, if the fielding was off standard level, they could’ve stopped Mumbai to a much lower score.

2. Inexperienced middle-order

Tonight, when the team sheets were exchanged between the captains, Sunrisers Hyderabad made 4 changes while Mumbai Indians tweaked one. The changes were pretty interesting for SRH, and the changes made their middle-order, paper-thin in terms of experience. Their middle order consisted of 3 uncapped individuals and Vijay Shankar, whose form hasn’t been on his side.

It’s not like uncapped individuals don’t possess the ability to make the mark, but they need proper experience exposure and entitled individual alongside them so that they could develop a better instinct for a stage like IPL. Abhishek Sharma, Virat Singh, and Abdul Samad, all would definitely be exciting players but the reliance on these players to carry a middle-order of the team against a vivid Mumbai Indians bowlers is a mountain of a task.

3. Uncertain team selection

The team selection by Warner had plenty of changes thrown following the last 2 losses to evict out the possibility to lose in this match. He thought that these many tweaks would make things better and sort out the problems, but unfortunately, it added a lot more into existing ones.

In a very uncertain manner, they are in dire need of a batsman who could stable their innings as well as, he could provide hitting range also. Possibly Kedar Jadhav might have been a good option to pick since, pickings Williamson still is a doubtful prospect.
