Delhi Capitals lost their first opportunity as Axar Patel dropped the crucial catch of Royal Challengers Bangalore opener Devdutt Padikkal.

Padikkal was playing for 12 runs with 2 boundaries. While facing a ball from Ishant Sharma, he hit the ball straight up into the air which went way long. With Axar Patel underneath the ball, he came running from the 30-yard circle but couldn’t judge the catch from anywhere and ended up dropping it.

With Padikkal into a solid form and after having hit a century in this season, this can prove to be a costly blow for the Delhi Capitals as the RCB batsman proves to be dangerous as the innings progresses.

It will be interesting to see how the DC bowlers cope up with this and find ways to dismiss Padikkal.
